Extend your adventure to beautiful Taveuni - from $321-786pp

Taveuni is one of the least visited islands, but also one of the most beautiful with the fourth largest rainforest in the world, the rainbow reef which is rated in the top ten reefs of the world and a cultural way of life that really does show you the “real” Fiji.
This is such a beautiful looking place that I just had to add an optional extension to your holiday. I’ve put together 3 8 night options revolving around snorkelling & culture, an amazing diving course or a taste of both. Each of them including a return overnight ferry trip from Suva, accommodation at the secluded Dolphin Bay Divers retreat, delicious food and all activities.
After shopping at Suva for supplies and catching an overnight ferry to Taveuni we’ll arrive at the Dolphin Bay Divers retreat, a small hideaway accessible only by boat with white sandy beaches, surrounded by rainforest and with no roads or discos just the sounds of the waves and the rainforest to lull you to sleep at night. (Just a note, there’s also no power or air con in the rooms, I wasn’t kidding when I said real Fiji. But there is internet when the generator is on). Here you’ll have the option to stay in a traditional bure, Jungle tent (with a real bed) or guest house, all of which are basic but comfortable and clean.
You’ll also be supplied with a delicious all you can eat meal plan including continental style breakfast, candle light dinner and no calorie, no fat dessert (yeah right!), coffee, tea and snacks which are available most of the day and daily Happy Hour or Sundowner, depending on their mood.

Remember, that I’ll work hard to get a discount :) So the more of you that come, the cheaper it should end up being ;)

The options below ALL included transfers to and from Taveuni from Suva via overnight ferry (so you won't need an expensive flight), transfers to and from the hotel, accommodation, food and various activities relating to the option.

Add on #10 Kayaking, snorkeling & village adventure! - $1,400pp

Join Tamarillo Kayaking Expedition on a tropical expedition by sea-kayak, exploring one of the most beautiful and secluded places in Fiji. Paddle at a leisurely island pace along the palm-fringed coast, drifting from one idyllic scene to the next. Dive down to the fish-filled reef, snorkel over the castles of coral. Beachcomb your way around deserted islands, siesta under the mango trees. Laugh with the locals, and feast on the fine, fresh food from the land and sea, tropical delicacies and imported gourmet essentials.

Our journey takes place around the islands of the Kadavu Ono group, the southernmost islands of Fiji. There are few roads here, and no large towns. Small, traditional villages dot the coastline, while inland the rugged hills lie cloaked in dense rare rainforest.

The 'Slice of Kadavu' is a 5-day journey through the island's natural environment. In addition to Kadavu's world-class sea-kayaking, the expedition includes plenty of time for snorkeling the coral reefs, trekking to waterfalls within the rain-forest, and enjoying picnics and siestas on deserted beaches. On one of the days we'll visit a small Fijian village for lunch.

This tour includes transfers to and from Nadi, 4 nights accommodation, all food and all activities.

Add on #2: A night at the wedding resort - extra $225 (single or twin)

Don’t want the hassle of trekking back to your hotel after Jess and Simon’s wedding, and like the idea of staying at an expensive resort for just 1 night? This is a resort for couples, and only has rooms for 2 so even if you’re traveling on your own you have to pay for a twin room. Lalati is a beautiful resort though, with friendly staff and a cultural atmosphere, so if you’d like to be pampered for just one night this is the time.

Add on #1: Private accommodation - extra $90pp (twin share)

Like the sound of this holiday but want to add a little more? Like private accommodation for 2? Upgrading from dorm accommodation to twin share will give you a double or queen bed (or 2 singles), private room and will give you a little extra space and privacy to just relax in each others company. (Family rooms are also available, if you’re interested in a room for just your family of 3-6 email me and I’ll give you your options). If you’re traveling on your own but still want privacy, you’d have to book out the whole twin room for an extra $180 for the whole trip.

The Holiday - $1,600pp

Includes travel around the Island of Viti Levu, exploring the Nadi markets, beautiful beaches, local villages and a local school, sandboarding down the Sigatoka Sand-dunes, a historical rainforest trek, river tubing, bamboo rafting, Kava ceremonies, a visit to Hindu temples, a curry lunch at Ba and a bath in some natural, volcanic hot mud springs. It also includes a relaxing 3 night stop off at Coral coast to celebrate Jess and Simon’s wedding, relax, snorkel, and get a massage and/or a beauty session to look gorgeous at Jess & Simons wedding.
This all costs just $1,600pp, staying only in dorm accommodation with all food and transport covered plus $150 spending money. Check out the “add-ons” if you want a little something more.

Most of the tours and transport comes from the feejee experience travel pass, a flexible way to see the real Fiji. Check out this video for an idea of what we’ll be doing ;)

Basic Itinerary

Saturday 8th
Fly out to Nadi. This is a free day to explore the area and check into your accommodation. Overnight at Bluewater Lodge.

Sunday 9th
Another free day, many locals like to observe various religious ceremonies on a Sunday so it may be worth checking out some local temples or Churches today. You could catch a local bus to Loutoka ($2FJD) and check out the largest Hare Krishna temple in the Southern Hemisphere, it’s a very friendly place. If you happen to be there on a Sunday, then pop in and they will probably invite you to stay for lunch. At all Hare Krishna temples there are weekly Sunday Vegetarian Feasts during which a good tasting vegetarian meal is served. There is also a beautiful botanical garden at Loutoka. Overnight at Bluewater Lodge.

Monday 10th
Visit the Nadi Markets then head south to beautiful Natadola Beach for body surfing, beach footie and sunbathing. Visit a coastal Fijian village then try your hand at sand-boarding at the Sigatoka Sandunes. Overnight at The Beach House.

Tuesday 11th
The wedding day! Catch a local bus to Pacific Harbour, enjoying the friendly company of the locals. On arrival feel free to explore the area, and maybe get a beauty session in preparation for Jess and Simons big day? Then catch a boat to Beqa island, and enjoy the wedding. Tonight you have 2 options; stay at the rather expensive resort, or stay at the more affordable Lawaki Beach House.

Wednesday 12th
A day to travel back to The Beach House in Fiji time. If you spent the night at Lalati resort I recommend taking full advantage of their facilities and beautiful beaches before trekking back to The Beach House via boat and taxi/bus. If you stayed at Lawaki Beach House, you’ll also have a great day! There are many great activities here before also making the journey back to "The Beach House". (I'll be organising a group transfer to make things easier and cheaper). Overnight at the Beach House.

Thursday 13th
Head east into the tropical rainforest and take a detour into the historical Namosi Highlands for a 2-3 hour rainforest trek. Tube down the Navua River and visit an enchanting waterfall. Tale a long boat past traditional villages back to the coast and head into the capital city of Suva. Overnight at the Raintree lodge.

Friday 14th
Visit a remote village for a traditional welcome ceremony and try the local drink, Kava. Visit the local school and learn about Fijian village life. In the afternoon, its time for more Fiji tradition - a bilibili (bamboo) rafting trip down the Wainibuka River. Head through remote tropical scenery to the sunny north coast. Overnight at Volivoli Lodge.

Saturday 15th
Explore the Indian sugar cane farms and settlements of the Ba district - see Hindu temples and sample the local curry. Finish the tour at the volcanic hot mud pools in the Sabeto Valley. Overnight at Blue Water Lodge.

Sunday 16th
Say a sad goodbye, today we fly home.

Please note that between now and the wedding the exchange rate may change between Australian and Fijian Dollars, and prices for accommodation and tours may raise slightly.

Bula!

Jess and Simon are getting married in beautiful, friendly culture filled Fiji, what a great excuse to have an amazing holiday! Lots of people have been low on cash, and unsure if they can afford to travel to Fiji to share in Jess & Simons special day so I’ve put together a cheap holiday staying in some of the best hotels in Fiji packed full of culture, adventure and beaches! The starting price for an 8 night holiday is only $1600, that’s less than $25 to put aside each week over the next 18months for the adventure of a lifetime. And it covers everything! The flight (from Adelaide), food, tours, transport, accommodation and $150 spending money!

But if you think you'll have a little extra time or money, take a look at the add-ons. There's some great stuff to do in Fiji, and if you can think of something you want to do that isn't on the list email me and I'll see if I can find something that can fit into the holiday that other people might enjoy. (Like Paul did with diving). So far this is an amazing holiday that will last anywhere between 8 and 25 nights costing from $1,600 to $4,000 per person.
